SCLL Divisions

We have 4 divisions for different ages groups:

Baseball

Division  Ages  Gender  Description of Division  Practice  Games

 T-Ball

4 - 8 Boys Girls T-Ball focuses on the fundamentals. Hitting from a tee and evolving into a coach pitch format using soft official T-Balls. No scores or standings.  An entry level division, we introduce ball and bat handling, working together as a team and having fun on the baseball diamond. Players with more than 1 season of T-ball experience will begin to learn stepping into their throw and swing to prepare moving up into the Rookie division. Every player bats and plays all positions in the game.
Practices is generally 2 times a week lasting1 hour.

Games are  typically set on Saturday mornings lasting 60 minutes.

 Rookies

6-9 Boys Girls Rookie players continue to learn fundamentals to basics. Age 6 can play in Rookie division if they've previously played T-Ball. This is a coach pitch division where coaches will challenge a batter depending on skill level.  No scores or standings wit ha 5 run inning cap. Some games play strikeout rule (swinging), otherwise 7 balls are thrown to each batter.

A key division, we introduce and improve throwing skills, catcher skills, and batting skills. They are incrementally taught to the team throughout the season in preparation for pitcher and catcher position when moving up to Minors.

Every player bats and is rotated into all fielding positions in the game. May play with 9 - 11 on a field.
Practice generally 2 times a week, lasting an hour and half . Games are typically set on Saturday at 9 or 10AM, weeknight games are also possible. Games run for 90 minutes, or 6 innings, which ever comes first.

 Minors

7-11  Boys Girls The Minors Division is a 'draft' level division. All players are required to tryout and teams are formed. This division was formerly known as "Minor 1" at SCLL and also known as "Player Pitch". All players are required to tryout and teams are formed through a manager draft process supervised by the Division Director, Player Agent and League President.

The standard nine baseball defensive positions are used and scores and standings are kept. Trained umpires enforce the Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball. Players are taught advanced fundamentals of baseball such that they are exposed to pitching techniques, playing positions, defensive pre-pitch preparedness, live batting and aggressive base running. We strive to prepare teh entire team to pitch and catch in this division.

Player statistics and game scores are kept, but no standings. There is  a Minors Championship at  the end of the season.

Practice  2 times a week, with a 3rd possible in preseason, starting between 5-5:30PM and lasting an hour and half . Some Saturday clinics will be scheduled and make-ups on Friday.

Pitching and Hitting Clinics may be held with professional trainers for additional cost throughout the season.
Games are typically set on Saturday with weeknight games possible. Games run for 120 minutes, or 6 innings, which ever comes first.

 Majors

 9-12  Boys Girls

The Majors Division is a "draft" level division and is our most advanced, competitive division of play. It is oriented for experienced player’s league age eleven and twelve years old, however league age 9 and 10 players are eligible to be drafted to a Majors division team. All players are required to tryout and teams are formed through a manager draft process supervised by the Division Director, Player Agent and League President.

Players pitch and Little League substitution rules are applied for the 9 batters in the lineup. The standard nine baseball defensive positions are used and scores and standings are kept. This level focuses on more advanced skill development. Players are exposed to faster pitching speeds, harder hit balls and the overall pace of the game is much faster. Trained umpires enforce the Rules and Regulations of Little League Baseball.

If there are more than 2 Majors teams, the top two teams from each division  participate in a three game World Series to determine the Space Coast Little League Champion team.

Depending upon league circumstances (end of season dates, District Tournament start date, District All Stars, etc.) winning teams may represent SCLL in the District 22 Tournament.

Practice generally 2 times a week, starting between 7-8:30PM and lasting an hour and half to 2 hours. Games are typically set on Saturday with weeknight games possible. Games run for 120 minutes, or 6 innings, which ever comes first.
